Helen Raica-Klotz is a professor in the English department at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), where she teaches writing. She has a M.A. in English from Central Michigan University and graduate coursework in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language). The former director of the SVSU Writing Center and the SVSU Community Writing Center, Helen has led various writing workshops and trained undergraduate students to provide individual support for writers at the university and in the larger community. In addition to her academic work, she has worked part-time as a freelance writer and has published a number of poems, short stories, and essays. She is, of course, an avid journal-er.
