    Description

Join CTAC in a conversation with artist guild member Connie Jason. This event will be presented both in-person and online via Zoom.

CTAC member artist Connie Jason has been working in watercolor, collage, and printmaking in various formats since graduating with a degree in Art Education from Western Michigan University. Most recently, she has been exploring methods of print-making including intaglio and mezzotint.

But her artwork had to change when her eye sight diminished drastically, leaving her with distorted central vision and an inability to see details. At first, Connie felt she had to give up the arts, until a friend and mentor suggested she developed a new style that is fast and captures the "gist" of the subject, while giving up the agonizing details. Connie will share the progression of her art and discuss the possibilities that disabilities present.

    • Attend in-person: 322 Sixth Street, Traverse City - no registration needed

    • Attend online via Zoom: Click here to register (free). If you are attending virtually, please have a piece of paper and a pen or pencil handy as Connie will ask students to do an exercise to help let go and explore new ideas.

Each year, Crooked Tree Arts Center celebrates the creative work of our Guild Member Artists in our annual Guild Member Salon Show. This invitational exhibition presents a diverse collection of art by equally diverse artists.
