    3-Day Painting Workshop - October 24, 25, & 26; 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

REQUIRED: $10 material fee, payable to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee will cover supplies that Debra will be providing for students to use!

Skill Level: Adults/18+; this workshop is for beginners and experienced painters alike who wish to break free from external pressures and connect with their true artistic selves. No prior experience is required- just an open mind and a willingness to explore!

Unleash your unique artistic voice in this immersive 3-day workshop designed to help you find your one-of-a-kind painting style. Just as every signature is distinct, so too is your approach to mark making. Led by artist Debra Howard, this workshop is about shedding external influences, letting go of comparisons, and diving deep into your personal creative process to uncover a style that's authentically yours. Join us to discover the marks only you can make, and paint without fear!

Day 1: Breaking Free from Influence

    • Through guided exercises, we'll explore intuitive painting techniques to loosen up and connect with your instincts. Leave behind the pressure of trends and expectations to focus on what feels true to you.

Day 2: Exploring Your Unique Marks

    • Experiment with tools, textures, and techniques to discover the marks that resonate with your individuality. We'll dive into playful, expressive activities to uncover your personal visual language.

Day 3: Refining Your Authentic Style

    • Reflect on your discoveries, refine your approach, and create a final piece that embodies your unique mark-making. Share your work in a supportive group setting to celebrate your authentic style.

    • We will break each day for a 1/2 hr. lunch- limited refrigerator space is available.

    • Materials - With the $10 materials fee, Debra will be providing supplies for student use. Any supplies available in the CTAC supply room are also available for students to use. If you would prefer to bring your own painting supplies, please bring the medium of your choice to work in/that you typically use.
