    Paint Out Wet Paint Sale
    Saturday, September 18, 1 - 7 PM
    Lavender Hill Farm, Boyne City

    Join us for Crooked Tree Arts Center's Wet Paint Sale on Saturday, September 18, 1 - 7 PM at Lavender Hill Farm in Boyne City.

    Tour the stunning grounds of Lavender Hill Farm and visit the shop full of lavender infused and inspired artisan goods! Be sure to pack a picnic and wine to enjoy as you view works created en plein air by local and regional artists during the Paint Out September 10 - 17. All artwork will be for sale and available to take home after 2 PM.

    An independent juror will award prizes in three categories: First Place, Second Place, and Best Lavender Hill Farm Scene.

    The sale is free and open to the public.

    Helpful Hints!

    • Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.
    • Pack a lunch, picnic, snacks, and beverages. Wine and beer allowed for 21 and over. 
    • Dress for the weather! Be prepared for the elements with sunscreen, bug spray, a jacket or blanket, or an umbrella!
    • Parking is limited, carpooling is encouraged.
    • Be adventurous! Wear comfortable shoes for the outdoors and explore the grounds of Lavender Hill Farm!

    How do I stamp my canvases? Bring your blank canvases or other painting substrates to the front desk at CTAC-Petoskey during business hours Friday, September 10, through Friday, September 17.

    Where can I bring completed artwork? All artwork must be delivered to Lavender Hill Farm (to CTAC staff) on Saturday, September 18, 10 AM – 12 Noon, unless other arrangements are made.

    How many pieces may I stamp and submit? You may have up to 5 pieces stamped, but may only submit 3 pieces for the jury and wet paint sale.

    Where can I paint? Artwork must depict an outdoor scene in the Little Traverse Bay area. While a special award category for artwork depicting a scene from Lavender Hill Farm will be awarded, artwork from Lavender Hill Farm is not required.

    When is the wet paint sale? The wet paint sale is at Lavender Hill Farm on Saturday, September 18, 1 PM – 7 PM, prior to the Play it Forward concert with TAKE3. Artists and their guests are invited to stay for the concert with complimentary lawn seats. BYO lawn chairs, blanket, picnic, and beer & wine.

    How do I price my artwork? Artwork is priced at the discretion of the artist. All artwork sold is subject to a 60% / 40% commission split, with the artist receiving 60% of the sale price.

    What happens at the end of the Wet Paint Sale? Purchased artwork will be taken home by the purchaser upon sale and artists receive a 60% commission on all sales. Payments will be mailed by the tenth day of the month following the sale of the item. A description of the items sold will be included with the check. Unsold work must be picked up by the artist at the conclusion of the sale, unless other arrangements are made.

    What are the prizes? An independent juror will award the following cash prizes: First Place, $250; Second Place, $150; and Best Lavender Hill Farm Artwork $100 and a gift basket of Lavender Hill Farm products.

    Canvas stamping begins at CTAC-Petoskey (10 AM - 5 PM)

    Friday, September 17:
    Last day to get your canvas stamped (10 AM - 5 PM)

    Saturday, September 18:
    Artwork due to Lavender Hill Farm (10 AM - 12 PM)
    Wet Paint Sale (1 PM - 7 PM)
    Play it Forward Benefit Concert (7:30 PM)*

    *Artists and their guests receive complimentary lawn seats
