    Description

Unfortunately, due to a facilities issue, CTAC - Petoskey will be closed on February 1 and this event has been canceled.

Artist Sue Moran will join us for an artist talk about her creative work and studio practice.

Sue Moran's fibers work is on display in the group show, Cultivated: Relationships with Nature

Sue has an MFA in Textiles from the University of Michigan. Her work incorporates shibori, silkscreen, and stitching to create work inspired by the natural world and common human experiences. She was a faculty member of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit from 1986-2023 and has also taught at Wayne State University. Commissions include textiles for the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, United Technologies Automotive, and the Michigan Horticultural Society. She has received grants from the Michigan Council for the Arts and National Surface Design Association. Her work has been profiled in Fiberarts Magazine. She exhibits, lectures and conducts workshops widely in Michigan and the US.

Immediately following this Coffee @ 10 lecture, CTAC Visual Arts Director Liz Erlewine will be providing an exhibition walkthrough of Cultivated: Relationships with Nature for the in-person audience. Hear about what goes into selecting artwork, artists, and exhibitions for Crooked Tree Arts Center's gallery spaces, as well as background and contextual information for appreciating the work.

As always, complimentary pastries and coffee are provided with support from Roast and Toast for our in-person audience.

This event is in-person and online via Zoom and Facebook.
