DESCRIPTION

As humans we are naturally drawn to pattern, repetition and rhythm. They occur in nature and in man made environments. They occur in art, music and dance. They move us, they point us to movement, they capture our imagination. Pattern, repetition and rhythm draw us into their world and hold our attention. 

In this two day workshop we will explore this dynamic aspect to design and composition. I will be teaching in oils, but acrylic, pastel and watercolor may be used.

Debra Howard is a full time, award winning plein air, oil painter, currently residing on Traverse Bay, Omena Michigan. 

Her work has been featured in the American Scholar and Plein Air Magazines. She is a Signature Member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association (MAPAPA). She offers artists talks, plein air workshops and has a regular plein air group that meets in northern Leelanau County. She has a passionate national collector base.

Debra has been juried into prestigious Plein Air competitions in over 20 states, winning many events, including, Savannah, Harford, Solomons, Floyd, Glen Arbor, Northport, Ellicot City, Dexter, Crisfield and Mountain Maryland.

Cancellation Policy for Traverse City Adult Workshops

Cancellation
Crooked Tree Arts Center reserves the right to cancel any multi-day, sequential-day workshop that does not meet its minimum student enrollment 14 days prior to the first workshop session. If a workshop is cancelled by CTAC for lack of enrollment, CTAC will offer a full refund to the student in the manner in which tuition was paid. (Cash payments will be refunded by check.)

Student Withdrawal
Requests for cancellation by the student at least sixty (60) days prior to the first day of the workshop will be honored (minus a $20 processing fee).  Requests for cancellation by the student between thirty (30) and fifty-nine (59) days prior to the first day of the workshop will receive a 50% tuition refund . NO REFUNDS will be given for a student cancellation made less than thirty (30) days prior to the first day of the workshop.
