Visual Arts and Exhibitions

Welcome to CTAC!

Winter is a great time to get out, come to our galleries, and enjoy our exhibitions!

CTAC-Petoskey is hosting three exhibitions this Winter: Tinker, Tailor, Welder, Weaver: The Art of Assemblage in the Bonfield Gallery, the 2017 Juried Photography Exhibition, in the Gilbert Gallery, and the CTAC Photographic Society Exhibition in the Atrium Gallery. All three exhibitions will open with a reception on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 2-4 pm.  CTAC Members, exhibiting artists and their guests are invited to attend.

Hygge: A Winter’s Glow will be on view at CTAC-Traverse City from January 14-February 25, 2017.  The show is inspired by the Danish concept “hygge,” (pronounced HYOO-gah) which is loosely translated as the ritual of enjoying family, friends, warmth, and the simple pleasures of life. Although hygge is enjoyed all year, it is often associated with the glow of a warm and friendly home during the darker winter months. The exhibitions includes furniture, home goods, paintings, fibers, ceramics, and other objects that reflect elements of Scandinavian Design and the hygge sensibility. Come to CTAC to explore Hygge, one of Oxford Dictionary’s finalists for word of the year, 2016!
