Trisha Witty is recognized as one of Northern Michigan’s premier artists. She is celebrating her 31st gallery anniversary in 2023, having opened her first gallery at age 19. Coming from a uniquely artistic family, Witty developed her raw talent entirely on her own. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1995, with three liberal arts degrees, Trisha pursued her career as a self-taught artist full time.

The Northern Michigan landscape provided Witty with strong influences for her artistic creations. While her work was being interwoven into the Northern Michigan community, Witty also began to travel and paint worldwide. Her experiences of new and diverse landscapes led to her growth and success as a fine artist. Witty paid close attention to the arts, cultures and “essence” of each new locale providing her collectors an array of subject matter and depth of character in each painting. This is something that is consistent in each piece of work she creates near home or afar. With the use of a single palette knife and oil, her paintings have incredible layered detail, depth, reflecting brilliant vivid color and light. Her unique style is continuously evolving, and has been embraced by her collectors and viewers worldwide.
