Our Instructors

Heather Raue
Artistic Director – CTAC School of Ballet

For 32 years, Ms. Raue has dedicated her life to ballet. Her dancing took her to The Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, Booker T. Washington HSPVA, City Ballet of Houston, Houston Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Boston Ballet, Hartford Ballet and Texas Christian University. Ms. Raue founded CTAC School of Ballet over 11 years ago and presently directs the program, as well as instructs the upper level ballet classes of CTAC School of Ballet.

In 2010, she received the Dance Teacher Award in New York City, presented by Dance Teacher Magazine.

In nine years Ms. Raue’s pre-professional students have attended 40 of the finest summer and year-round programs in the country, pursue dance in the university/conservatory setting, as well as to dance professionally. Ms. Raue has directed and choreographed over 30 full-length productions.

Karrie Benedict
Dance Instructor

Karrie Benedict began her Ballet training at age 5. Her first 7 years focused on learning the syllabus and passing the examinations of the British Royal Academy of Dance. She was a founding member and soloist with The Kalamazoo Ballet, then under the Direction of Advanced Royal Academy member Theresa Bullard. She completed a BFA Honors Degree with a double major in Ballet and Modern Dance from York University, Toronto Ontario Canada.  She began working at The Crooked Tree Arts Center in 2009 and is currently teaching Beginning, Beginning Intermediate, and Adult Ballet, Dance Fusion and Advanced Modern Dance.
