Water: Above and Below
In Maryland, when I first picked up a paintbrush in 1999, water found its way into nearly all my compositions. Upon my first trip to Northwest Michigan, with her clean, fast moving rivers, and salt-free lakes the size of oceans, I knew this would be a place for our family to flourish. Water compositions, both representational and abstract in nature, still commandeer my workspace. Pushing subjects like rising tides, underwater flora and fauna, and hidden/trapped water beneath the surfaces where we live.
