Biography

The most significant art exhibition for Troy Tatlock’s was well received by an influential art critic.
He earned praise for his energetic mark-making in cold wax. It was a 
fine piece. 
Controversy emerged, however, as that juror took note of the signature on his work.
 “Yort,” said the critic during the review.
Silence ensued…
“Yort,” she repeated as she scanned the room, “Who is Yort?” 
Again silence… 
“Troy,” Mr. Tatlock finally corrected as he pointed to his nametag. “My first name is Troy.”
 “Well , you wrote “Yort” the instructor countered. Pointing to the bold letters in the corner “Y-O-R-T.”
“You’re reading it wrong,” rebutted the artist. 
“Oh, I see! Are you left-handed? It is impressive you can sign your name; but it is backwards sweetie; that is so adorable! We can fix that easy” …. was her harsh review.
“Yort, Yort, Yort…”  chanted the other aspiring artists sporadically throughout the day. 
It was clear to Mr. Tatlock that his kindergarten peers also failed to appreciate the content and significance of his fine art.
