Biography
“Pollie approaches life enthusiastically…”feeding her wanderlust.” She likes this quote by poet, Wendell Berry, “Nobody can discover the world for somebody else. Only when we discover it for ourselves does it become common ground and a common bond, and we cease to be alone.” I don’t think Elizabeth Pollie needs to ever be concerned about being alone.”
-John Potoshnik
I grew up relating to the world in these three ways; with my eyes, my hands and my heart.
I believe we form a language that emanates from individual primary modes of connecting, understanding, imagining and exploring. This mix so often being the gift of the “Child’s Mind and Spirit.”. And, sometimes an “art kid” becomes an ”art adult” and this fluency continues to evolve decade after decade.
The artist Paul Klee said, “Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.” Finding “significant wonder” through light and shadow, color and design, and quiet contemplation are touch points in my process. It’s a good life full of profound intimacy and an untamed sense of curiosity.”
