Docent Tours

Sign up your class for a fun and educational tour of the exhibits for the entire school year!  If transportation funds are low for your school, contact the arts center for financial assistance. Click here to download the Busing Scholarship Application.

In recognition of the broad range of subject matter embraced by serious visual artists throughout history, the Board of Directors and professional staff of Crooked Tree Arts Center recommend that all teachers of elementary through high school students preview exhibits at the Arts Center, in person, prior to bringing students through a show. Ansel Adams: Masterworks Exhibit

The Ansel Adams: Masterworks exhibit is comprised of 48 photographs hand-selected by Ansel Adams to represent his body of work.  Ansel Adams (1902-1948) was considered to be one of the most influential American photographers of his time.  Not only did his work play a major role in elevating photography to an art form comparable with painting and music, Adams’ images were used to help expand the National Park System and to promote environmental awareness through his work with Sierra Club.  Learn more about Ansel Adams.

2017 Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition 

The exhibition includes nearly 80 2-dimensional and relief works by artists working in a variety of media. There are landscapes, portraits, still lifes and decorative works. This exhibition is a wonderful survey of art making practices, and artistic styles. 

Fresh A.I.R Exhibition: Artists in Residence

The alumnae of the CTAC Artist in Residence Program in Good Hart will participate in the group exhibition Fresh AIR. The exhibit will include recent works by Amanda Boyd, Lindsey Dunnagan, Kirsten Furlong, Amanda Hamilton, Linda Harvey-Opitek, Joanna Hoge, Bill Hosterman, Michael Marks, and Kalina Wińska.

2018 Annual Juried Photography Exhibition

The exhibit includes works by photographers across the state of Michigan and beyond. The exhibit was juried by Bill Schwab, a widely published artist and host of the annual Photostock Festival.

 

 

Hand in Hand: Craft & New Technologies

Hand in Hand: Craft and New Technologies is an exhibition of contemporary craft and design objects that explore the nexus of traditional handcraft techniques or forms with new and innovative concepts, materials, methods, tools, processes, or approaches.

2018 Youth Art Show

Both galleries at CTAC are dedicated to showcasing the creativity of young artists from Charlevoix & Emmet Counties from kindergarten through 12th grade. The exhibition will be open from April 7, 2018- May 5, 2018. The reception is on Saturday, April 7, 2018 between 2-4 pm.
