Crooked Tree Youth Orchestras


Crooked Tree Youth Orchestra begins rehearsing on Monday, September 19!




The Crooked Tree Youth Orchestras consist of 3 groups:

CTACYO-ConcertOrchestra-2946-wwwThe Concert Orchestra: a string orchestra of students who have played at least 2 years and are at least to a Junior High level of playing.





CTACYO-ChamberOrchestra-2852-wwwThe Chamber Orchestra: the chamber orchestra is a smaller group of our most advanced string players at a high school and college level.





CTACYO-Symphony_2853-8x12Symphony Orchestra: consists of the players in the chamber orchestra and local wind brass and percussion students who are invited to join.   Interested brass, woodwind and percussion players should contact Mr. Robert Dudd at (231) 347-5720.



The Youth Orchestras also function as outreach groups and there are several different sites available for students to participate.


2016-2017 Season

Concert and Chamber Orchestra rehearsals  begin on September 19, 2016 in the Carnegie Center main floor:  Concert Orchestra 5:30-6:30 p.m. Chamber/Symphony 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Satellite classes are available on other days and locations. Click here or a full listing of rehearsals and locations.


Each group is joined by audition.  Please contact Kevin Richardson for details or to set up an audition.


2016-2017 Youth Orchestra Events

Monday, November 7 – Crooked Tree Youth Symphony starts

Sunday, January 29 – Winter Concert @ 3pm; Crooked Tree Arts Center (Rehearsal begins at 11:30 AM)

May 21 – Spring Concert @ 2:30 pm; Boyne City 
Performing Arts Center


Check back in late-Spring for the 2017 Summer Strings Program schedule.  Classes typically begin the second week in July and conclude with a performance the last Wednesday in July.
