    Description

Edgar Degas said, “Painting is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do.”

In this 4 week painting class, we are going to defy Mr. Degas and turn that sentence around. We will learn a lot, and be quite challenged, by painting subjects that we care about and are familiar with as we often have a very specific outcome in mind.

We will study the forms and shapes of the things we love and in turn, we will understand why these things look the way they do. With that understanding, you will discover new ways to see and to paint.

This class will help you create new ways to work the tools that are readily available. Our subjects will be still life objects that the instructor will supply, plus some others you will want to bring from home after the first class.

Please read the policy for classes cancelled due to inclement weather.  We will hold a makeup session, March 22 for classes cancelled due to weather.
