9/14 - Painting with Stencils
Use stencils to create added texture and patterns to your paintings. Create your own, or use pre-made stencils to enhance your art. Students will get a chance to experiment with a variety of water-based paints.
9/21 - Exploring Gesso
Gesso is not just a primer for your canvas! Find out how you can incorporate gesso with watercolor, create veils, and paint on gesso for a new watercolor/acrylic ink surface that leads to exciting effects.
9/28 - Meet the Mediums!
Explore different painting mediums without breaking the bank! This class introduces the use of crackle paste, molding paste, glass beads, and heavy structure gel to add texture and dimensional surfaces to your paintings. What you can do with these is endless!
10/5 - Stamp it On!
Make your own stamps using household objects, natural objects, and more. Through the use of your own stamps (or premade stamps), you can add areas of intrigue, texture, and patterns to your paintings.
10/12 - Monoprinting and Collage Painting using Gelli Plates
Gelli printing is a fun process using acrylic paints, stencils, stamps, and other elements to create unique monoprints. Take the process one step further to explore how your prints can be used to add texture and interest to acrylic and watercolor paintings.
10/19 - Mixed Media for a New Approach to Painting
This session introduces wats to combine pastels, acrylic inks, and watercolor to create mixed media paintings.
10/26 - Lifting Techniques in Watercolor
There is more than one way to lift watercolor paint -- and some are a little outside of the box! This session will explore traditional methods for lifting out the paint, but will also introduce students to alternative techniques.
