Calling artists in the Northwest Lower Michigan region to submit artwork for consideration for AGRICULTURA, an agriculture-themed exhibition at Crooked Tree Arts Center - Traverse City, on display from April 26 through May 25, 2024.

All mediums and styles are welcome. We ask artists to submit work on topics related to agriculture, such as: organic farming, factory farming, urban agriculture, farm shares, soil, seeds, pollination, pesticides, farm-to-table concept, GMOs, fences, and any other approaches to the subject. Artists should consider questions such as: What is the relationship between humanity and the land we cultivate? In what ways does agriculture shape our cultural identity and sense of community? How does the portrayal of agriculture in art reflect broader societal values? How can art serve as a catalyst for reimagining our relationship with the natural world and fostering greater stewardship of the land?

Broad, artistic interpretations of the theme are encouraged. Representational images of farm life, including spaces and structures, are eligible. Varying degrees of representation and purely abstract works related to the theme are also welcome. Florals and still life imagery should have clear and thoughtful connections to ideas of agriculture and farming.
