Walking the beaches of Southwest Florida is a calming and creative experience. Listening to the waves, smelling the sea, and looking for sea shells is a pastime which has turned into a creative venture. Finding a perfect shell is a blessing but finding a broken shell is a gift. So many times, a broken shell will look up from the beach and send a message of design. For example, the tree shown in the listing of my work is mostly broken sea shells. One day a broken lightening whelk sitting on the beach reminded me of an alligator. He promptly came home with me and I made an alligator desk ornament for my grandson.
Each piece of work is one of a kind using sea shells, drift wood and sometimes antique jewelry. I hope you enjoy my works of art as much I enjoy making them.
Specific shell and material list provided upon request.
