I grew up in Albion, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University, and completed my Masters Degree at Northern Illinois University. As a teacher, audiologist, and speech pathologist working with both children and adults, my career was devoted to the enhancement of communication skills. Since I have been retired, I look to the visual arts as a personal communication tool. For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the world of art.
I live in the gorgeous "Up North" on the chain of lakes near Ellsworth, Michigan. Now, I find time to more fully appreciate the art culture in this area, create art, and get to know other artists. I have had opportunities to enroll in various workshops taught by talented and creative artists, including courses offered here at Crooked Tree. Whether I am at home or traveling, being able to sketch and paint in watercolors or oils is always gratifying and challenging. Most of my painting starts with a reaction to something in nature, an emotion, or thought. I hope viewers who enjoy my work are also reminded of some memories of their own.
