I grew up in a house of artists. My dad was a commercial artist and we all worked on product illustration, design, copy and paste-up in the days before CAD. Having studied art and illustration at Wayne University in Detroit and School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, I ended up graduating from CUNY with a BA in Psychology. Does this mean art makes one crazy? Perhaps. Making art can also heal. I, however, chose to go back to the airlines and worked in airlines reservations for another 23 years to bring that total to 30 years. I often ended up doing in-house posters as a part of my airlines career. I have done illustration in pen and ink and scratch board before the days of the internet and Adobe. I currently like to work in watercolor because it is the opposite of the absolute predictability of ink and scratch board. Whether painting outside or in my studio, I see every painting as an adventure!
