Art, for me, is a contemplative practice. I notice what can only be recognized through a long and loving gaze. I am in awe of the colors, patterns, and textures in nature. When drawing or painting, my focus zooms in, my breath slows. I notice what I would normally miss while moving with the usual currents of life.  Hopefully, my paintings will encourage the viewer to slow down and see deeply also, observing their world in new and enriching ways
