Crooked Tree Arts Center Installs New Drinking Fountains with Support from Great Lakes Energy People Fund

Crooked Tree Arts Center has received a grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund and has completed the installation of two new ADA-compliant drinking fountains, including one with a bottle-filling station.

The new fixtures replace outdated and non-functioning units and are now available in two of the facility’s highest-traffic areas, near the main entrance lobby and on the lower level adjacent to the ballet studio, music studio, and clay classroom.

This improvement provides reliable access to clean drinking water for the thousands of visitors who come through Crooked Tree Arts Center each year, including youth, families, and adults attending classes, performances, and community events. The updated units enhance accessibility for all users and support environmentally responsible practices by encouraging the use of reusable water bottles.

“This project may seem small, but it makes a meaningful difference in the day-to-day experience of everyone who walks through our doors,” said Angela Morris, Executive Director at Crooked Tree Arts Center. “We are grateful to the Great Lakes Energy People Fund for supporting an improvement that contributes to a more welcoming, accessible, and sustainable community space.”

Members of the Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in communities served by the cooperative.
