As a college student, I was lucky enough to land a summer job in the 70's as a medical illustrator. My art quickly expanded beyond the bounds of the working environment, and I found myself exploring and experimenting with various media. While a student, a black and white photographic image I had on exhibit at a local show, caught the eye of a NY Times critic, and was published in the Times. Despite these early successes, upon entering the business world after graduating from college, art was forced to take a backseat to my "real job". So I pursued art as a hobby over the decades, and have enjoyed working with chalk, pen & ink, B&W and color photography, computer manipulation of images, oils, watercolors, gouache, and video. I view a subject, locate beauty or some fascination within the subject, and capture it… mainly to satisfy myself but also to share with others. (I am my own harshest critic). Now that I'm retired, I have time to get back into art and pursue it more seriously.
Exploring nature and capturing its' form and beauty is something that brings me peace and happiness. Hopefully my work will help others appreciate the beauty of nature and bring them happiness too.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in viewing more of my art, or in making a purchase. Unlike most other media, photography can easily be scaled up or down to best fit the space you have in mind, and you can further personalize the work by framing it to your satisfaction, if you so wish.
