Artist Profile

Naomi Call

I graduated with a BFA in design and have explored, shown and sold many mediums over the decades since I graduated. I have been a potter, a weaver, a designer, a photographer and now... my love of Nature and the lakes has me seemingly endlessly walking the shores of Lake Michigan. I love discovering what the lake casts to wanderers.

To me, these pieces of another time in a life are opportunities to illuminate an intrinsic wonder of our Great Lakes. As a young girl I was introduced to driftwood through my moms love of the ‘character’ that she saw in driftwood. I am deeply grateful for the reference of Nature that my mom was able to bestow even in our suburban Pittsburgh yard.

My dream is that others will see the innate beauty and wonder of our lakes. I hope the profoundly simple, very unique and astounding natural beauty of what Lake Michigan created, not me, will be evoked within you as we witness, with reverence, the last chapter from the life of a tree.
