Artist Profile

I am a plein air painter whose favorite subjects are old farms and rural landscapes. Many of my paintings are done on-site, where the experience of being outdoors finds its way into my work. I look for patterns of light on the landscape. Simplifying the scene gives my work a sense of serenity. Underpaintings help harmonize the colors and bring unity to the landscapes. The buildings have their own histories, which speak to the passage of time, as seen through their empty windows.
