Charlevoix Area Hospital and Crooked Tree Arts Center are pleased to announce the winner of the correct guess of the final destination in Crossings.   Street Legends Car Club of Charlevoix was randomly chosen from the 69 correct entries and was awarded the winning prize is $5,000.  the correct answer was the cross in Cross Village. 
 
“We are so pleased that a non-profit group was the winning entry.  The $5,000 will go right back out into the community” noted Lyn Jenks, Charlevoix Area Hospital Foundation.  Many of the correct entries were from schools, service organizations and local clubs as well as individuals.    “Our group supports many worthy projects including Camp Quality, college scholarships for area students and other non-profit organizations” said Joan Balch, Treasurer of Street Legends.   Joan represented the group at the drawing on Sunday August 1 at the Crooked Tree Arts Center.   To learn more about Street Legends, contact Joan Balch at 548-9013.
 
Charlevoix Area Hospital Foundation  and Crooked Tree Arts Center teamed up for this unique fundraising project with the publication of the book, Crossings, A Journey Through Northern Michigan History.   Written by Charlevoix resident and Crooked Tree Arts Center board member, Patti Aikin the tale leads the reader on an exploration of our area through the eyes of a young boy.     Books are now available for a discounted price of $10, as the contest has ended.   Fourteen area artists illustrated the books and the limited edition prints are now on sale for $50.00.   Four of the original illustrations are also still available and on display at the Crooked Tree Arts Center.
