Crooked Tree Arts Center celebrated the work of seven Michigan sculptors by placing their works in seven sites in northern Michigan. The Art in Public Places Project was designed to give each community opportunity to enjoy and display seven remarkable pieces of art at no cost.
The project ran May 2005 through through May 2009, funded in part by The Frey Foundation.
Every six months, the artwork was rotated- thanks to the generous support of Moran Ironworks of Onaway. Tom Moran, owner and chief operating officer of Moran Iron Works, designed and constructed the concrete bases for all seven pieces. Each base weighs 27,300 pounds.
Each of the seven works were available for purchase through CTAC. Art In Public Places brochures with photos and maps are available the Crooked Tree Arts Center.
