Welcome to Fall at the Crooked Tree Arts Center!
We are winding down the summer’s events and looking forward to a rewarding fall season at CTAC. Opening on September 18 from 4-6 p.m. everyone is invited to celebrate the 30th Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition with a double gallery exhibition of over 60 works from all over the state of Michigan. On September 21 the Michigan Legacy Art Park will present a Coffee at Ten talk and introduce many to the exceptional programming that is offered in the 30-acre preserve where one can experience nature, art and history in sculptures that recreate meaningful moments in Michigan. Beginning on September 27, the CTAC docent program under the volunteer chairmanships of Kathy Snyder and Rhea Murray will begin a new school year bringing arts education to students from all over the Charlevoix-Emmet county area.
Under the tutelage of CTAC President of the Board of Directors Kurt Wietzke, Board Members Melissa Keiswetter and Wally Klein and art patron Tom Moran, CTAC is reenergizing the popular Art in Public Places project. We are looking forward to a July 2011 kick-off where there will be 10 new sculptures rotating around northern Michigan communities.
Opening on November 19 the Visual Arts Committee under the direction of Chairman Christy Kneese and co-chair of the Holiday Art Bazaar Maggie Van Wagoner will open our annual Holiday Art Bazaar with a festive and fun opening wrapped with music, food and good cheer!
I would like to personally thank all of who have contributed time and talent so that the Crooked Tree Arts Center can thrive and achieve the extraordinary things that we do. From dance to music, art to culinary extravaganzas, CTAC has become a benchmark for excellence, I am proud to be involved in such a remarkable organization. Please join us and become involved too!
